Dear Friends and Family,
In less than forty-eight hours, I will be in route to Belize for my seven week long stay! I wanted to write and thank you all very much for your support! You are making the work that will be done in Belize possible. Thank you so much.
I also wanted to tell you a little bit more about some of the things I am doing in Belize. As an Assistant Trip Leader, I will be leading teams from the US and Canada in their mission work. Each week on Saturday, I pick up a new team from the airport and head to their work site. Because each site is different, I actually get to move around the country a lot. I start my time in a central village in the country named Burrellboom. I then move north, close to the border of Mexico and Belize, to a city named Cristo Rey. Then I gradually move south, with a stay in Libertad, then a very small mountainous village named Red Bank, then to a village named Carmelita.
Each trip will contain some element of construction or repairs on houses, schools, churches or community centers. But each trip will also include a lot ov loving interaction with the Belizian people themselves - orphanage work, nursing homes, school teachings, and afterschool programs. On one trip, we will be leading a team of eye doctors to a village that has never ever had eye doctors present before. We'll be able to give the people glasses! I'm very excited about all of my trips.
All in all, this is just a preliminary thank you! I will keep you all updated with how things are going in Belize on my Belizian Blog: www.notesfrombz.blogspot.com. All that happens in Belize, you can take ownership of because of your generous support. Thank you so much for being a part of sharing Jesus' love in Belize!
Please pray for me and the people of Belize, that our presence will bring them hope. And that through our work, we can share love - real love, sacrificial love, practical, serving love - with them.
Blessings,
Hannah Vaughan
