Our Vision

God's Person

At Liberty, we recognize that our ultimate purpose is to worship and glorify God. Because the Church was created by Him and for Him, we exist for the pleasure and purpose of God. Thus, we are called to be a special people displaying to heaven and earth His divine excellencies.

WORSHIP
The Lord Jesus Christ came to the earth to redeem for God a people that might worship Him. Indeed, the Father is seeking those who will worship Him in spirit and in truth. Since worship is God’s highest priority, it is ours also.

WORD
In order to worship God in a manner that is pleasing to Him, we must accept His Word, the Bible, as the ultimate authority for the faith and practice of the Church. It is the duty of the Church, therefore, to faithfully expound the whole counsel of God, believe its promises, obey its precepts, and guard its purity.

God’s Church

Our relationship with God, fostered by worship and the Word, leads to relationships with each other. Worship in the Spirit produces fellowship in the Spirit.

FELLOWSHIP
The prayer of Jesus in John chapter seventeen reveals his desire for the unity of his Church. This unity, however, can only take place when there is genuine fellowship of life. According to the Bible, fellowship literally means “partnership.” And as partners in the Church, we worship and serve the same God, and we share the same goals and responsibilities. Quite simply, we are called to share all things in common, being unreserved in our love and commitment to one another.

THE GIFTS
Our love for the Body of Christ leads us to minister to one another according to the gifts that God has given to each of us. We believe that every member of the Church has been gifted by the Holy Spirit for the edification of the Church, and that all genuine ministry must be the work of the Spirit in us and through us. Therefore, it is our desire to allow the Holy Spirit to manifest his gifts in our midst so that the Body of Christ might come to maturity.

God’s World

Our relationship with God and one another should have a redemptive impact on the world. Because God is seeking men and women to worship Him, and Jesus is seeking the lost, we are called to do the same. That is our commission.

EVANGELISM
The first step in fulfilling the Great Commission is evangelism, or the proclamation of the gospel. The world is our parish, and all people should hear the gospel of Christ. Thus, we will proclaim the gospel both corporately and individually. Our prayer is that as we are faithful to worship God, fellowship in the Spirit and preach the gospel , that God will “add to our number daily, such as should be saved.” We are committed, then, to Church growth.

DISCIPLESHIP
Our evangelism should eventually produce not simply decisions for Christ but rather, disciples of Christ, as the Great Commission states: “Go, ye, therefore, and make disciples....” Those converted through our ministry, or those Christians who join our church, will be given guidance and instruction in order that they might become mature disciples of Christ. It is our desire to equip all Christians for the work of the ministry and to train a new generation of leaders for the home, the Church and the community.
